2010/2011 Scott Punisher Jib - 178 - Review
|
Bottom Line: This ski is awesome. The new Scott Punisher jib, is basically the same ski as the Scott P3 that I have been using over the past few years as my go-to park ski. It has a fairly stiff flex pattern, making it a great all mountain park ski, however, its narrow tip and tail widths cause it to feel way more at home in the park. It is a very playful ski, very poppy, very light, and very fun. This is one of the most under rated park skis on the market. Tom Wallisch's tool of choice when winning slopestyle events, the Punisher Jib is built the ski that lets you dissect everything jib whether it is a quad kink rail, or a 100ft table this ski does it all.
Pros: The ski has a very low swing weight. It is a very light ski, fairly stiff, and very poppy. This ski handles the entire mountain well but is at home in the park. The top sheet is very durable. The narrow width makes this ski a dream on rails as switch ups and spins on and off seem easier. Cons: After sliding a ton of rails on this ski, rather than the edge wearing down, the base of the ski actually delaminated from the core material. Its not surprising since I ski my park skis hard, but I have never seen this type of delamination before. Otherwise, the ski is perfect for park skiing. UPDATE: I just bought another pair of these skis, that is how much they rip in the park! I love the P3, hands down one of my favorite park skis out there. I like these more than the AR6 even. |
