2008/2009 Dalbello Krypton Pro I.D.
This is probably the best boot I have ever used. 3 piece boots like Dalbello and Full tilt are not only the past but also the future of skiing. There are 2 things that I love about this boot.
First, the boot has an Intuition Gold I.D. liner. This is the lightest, warmest, and most fully customizable liner on the market. It is also the stiffest intuition liner made. The liner can mold better to the shape of your feet than any other heat moldable liner on the market.
The second thing that I love about this boot is the 3 buckle design. Instead of a 2 top buckles and 2 toe buckles, this boot has 1 top buckle, 1 toe buckle, and 1 instep buckle. The instep buckle (Dynalink) helps hold your heel into place so you can't get toe bang. Also, having the tongue be separate from the rest of the boot helps you to not get shin bang.
Every problem I used to experience with my old boots disappeared when I got this boot. One word of caution..this boot is for fairly narrow feet only (98mm last).
The boot comes with 2 boot boards. One is rubber and is made for impacting hard landings. The other is a rigid plastic, which allows those who don't take big impacts to feel their skis easier through the boot. The Boot also comes with 2 tongues, one that flexes around 100 index and the other around 120 index. You can make both of these tongues stiffer by adding included plastic bricks to the heel plate of the boot. This allows the boot to flex at a nice 100 for park and somewhere near a 130 for big mountain. I usually ride mine right around 120.
The boots stiffness does change dramatically in warm and cold weather. The boot will fit horribly out of the box until you mold it. If you try this boot on at a shop it will feel quite a bit different when you actually get it out on snow.
In my opinion, three piece boots are not for everyone, but they are for most people. Unless you are a racer or have a really fat boot, this is the boot to buy!
